Quel serait son impact ?
Selon le C40 cities, à l’origine de cet accord, le monde économiserait 87 millions de tonne de déchets, qui à leur tour produiraient des gaz à effet de serre. Comment ces déchets produiraient des gaz à effet de serre ?
Les déchets brulés produisent du dioxyde de carbone plus connu sous le nom de gaz carbonique (CO2) et les déchets mis en décharge produisent du méthane (CH4).
La production annuelle des déchets municipaux est estimée à 2 milliards de tonnes, bien que trop petit, c’est déjà un bon début.
